Albino Rocca
The story of Albino Rocca begins in the mid-1940s, when Giacomo Rocca, Albino Rocca’s father, entered the wine business. Initially, Giacomo focused on selling grapes harvested from the family’s vineyards. As his experience grew, he transitioned from simply selling grapes to producing his own wine, which was distributed in demijohns.
During the 1960s, the inheritance of some of the family’s most valuable vineyards enabled Albino Rocca’s grandfather to lay the foundations of what would become the Albino Rocca winery. Albino’s dedication and his strong support for Angelo Rocca, Albino’s father, were instrumental in building a tradition of winemaking that has expanded on an international scale over the years.
The history of Albino Rocca has unfolded gradually, year by year. This journey has involved the careful acquisition of vineyards and the production of a range of wines, including Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and Barbera. The family’s commitment to continually improving the quality of their Barbaresco is evident, with efforts beginning in the vineyards and continuing in the cellar. This enduring tradition has shaped the winery’s reputation and legacy.
