Whisky
Whisky or whiskey is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. The spelling varies by region, with “whisky” and “whiskey” both used in English. Different varieties use different grains, including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden barrels, commonly made of charred white oak. During storage, uncharred white oak barrels previously used for aging port, rum, or sherry may also be used. These can impart a unique flavour and colour.
