Now the flagship wine of the estate and named in honour of Daniela, Monica, and Paola’s father Angelo, this superb red is not a single-site wine as some might expect. Instead, it is a blend of fruit from their best plots across their best vineyard sites, which include Ronchi and Ovello in Barbaresco and Montesino in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio.

Having first been produced in 2013, that debut release was called “old school as old school gets” by Galloni, having spent 55 days on skin. The approach in the legendary 2016 vintage was different. Having spent only 25 days on skins, this a more elegantly structured Nebbiolo but is nevertheless a “wine of fascinating contrasts” (AG). This is a 2016 that fluctuates between being powerful but also incredibly light on its feet.

Receiving a massive 97 points from Wine Spectator's Bruce Sanderson, the title of ‘Editors’ Choice’ and 96 points from Wine Enthusiast’s Kerin O’Keefe, alongside 94+ points from Galloni, this is an outstanding Barbaresco from one of the region’s most in demand vintages.
