Taittinger
The origins of Champagne Taittinger date back to 1734 with the founding of the original House by Jacques Fourneaux.
The link to the Taittinger name was established by their founder Pierre Taittinger. Pierre spent time in the Champagne region during the First World War, stationed at the Château de la Marquetterie. He fell in love with the region and this remarkable property and returned in the 1930s to acquire it. He set up the family business and realised his dream.
Today, they remain one of the few Grande Marque Champagne Houses to be owned and actively managed by the eponymous family.
THE TAITTINGER FAMILY: Champagne Taittinger has been run by the Taittinger family for four generations. Today, Vitalie Taittinger and her brother Clovis run the business.
Vitalie, President of the House, and Clovis, Managing Director, are surrounded by a team who all add their expertise and play a part in contributing to the family spirit of the House: Chef de Caves, Alexandre Ponnavoy, is responsible for the blending and winemaking of all our wines and is guardian of the consistent quality. Vineyard Director, Christelle Rinville, is in charge of our vineyards and played a key role in ensuring we achieved sustainable accreditation. Damien le Sueur also works alongside Clovis as Managing Director. He has a pivotal role in coordinating grape growing, winemaking, production and distribution.
Having their family name on every bottle is their signature, it is a big responsibility. They have a duty to respect the history, knowledge and passion from the past whilst looking to the future. Each signature is a commitment to quality.
