Chateau Le Boscq Saint Estèphe Cru Bourgeois 2015.
Château Le Boscq is a fine wine from Saint-Estèphe, and classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. Ideally situated next to the Gironde estuary, Le Boscq elegantly combines the power of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, with the delicacy of Merlot. The wines are charming, velvet-textured and spicy, enhanced by lovely rich tannins, and well-balanced and refined on the finish.
TASTING NOTES:Le Boscq 2015 is dense and concentrated in appearance. The intense, elegant and complex bouquet combines a wealth of fruit aromas with notes of cedar and precious woods. Immediately generous on the palate, with dark fruit aromas of wild blackberries, together with a hint of spice and cigar box. The wine gains in volume, while the silky tannins bring rich structure and lovely balance. Chateau Le Boscq’s rich terroir is once again revealed through the wine’s impressive harmony. Intense, lengthy finish.
THE VINTAGE:The first six months of the year saw favourable conditions align to get us off to a good start. After a cool, damp winter, the first buds appeared 13 April. The glorious weather that set in soon after triggered rapid vine growth and early, rapid flowering at the end of May – lasting barely a week – and almost two weeks ahead of schedule on average across the property. After a rather hesitant start to veraison due to very hot weather at the start of summer, rain came just at the right time in early August. Veraison speeded up as a result and the berries, which at this stage were still quite small, developed normally. At the beginning of September, the fruit was already looking very promising. We harvested with no rush wonderful merlot and superb Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
