Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023 offers a harmonious marriage between the richness of red wine casks and the excellence of Chichibu distillery expertise.
On the nose, Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023 evokes a subtle balance between notes of honey, delicate wood and a seductive blend of fruits such as medlar, forest berries and citrus. On the palate, rich, fruity flavours reveal accents of blueberry, refreshing citrus and medlar, supported by vegetal and woody nuances of mint, cedar and liquorice. The long, intoxicating finish reveals a pleasant, subtly spiced bitterness of clove and orangette, accompanied by a lingering sweetness reminiscent of milk chocolate.
This special edition of just 11,800 bottles is a blend of single malts aged exclusively in red wine casks. Meticulously selected by Ichiro Akuto, these casks come from renowned vineyards in France, the USA, New Zealand and Japan, giving this single malt complex flavours. Unchill-filtered and naturally coloured with slight red highlights, this whisky takes advantage of the unique qualities of the casks to enrich its aromatic profile.
