Chambolle Musigny lies just north of Vougeot and South of Morey Saint Denis. There are 24 Premiers Crus and 2 Grands Crus.
VINEYARD INFORMATION: The Chambolle Musigny vineyards is unique in the Côte de Nuits for the chalky composition of its soils just over a hard rocky bedrock which stresses the vines.
Les Baudes is situated just beneath the "Bonnes Mares Grand Cru" vineyard, near the Morey Saint-Denis village.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION: The grapes bear small little dark red berries. The bunches are destemmed; they macerate in open vats during 4 weeks helping the subtle terroir to reveal itself. After devatting, the wines are aged in oak barrels during 18 months.
WINE SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-17.
AGING POTENTIAL: 10 years and more, even 15/20 years.
