With the 2024 vintage, Tenuta San Guido presents the twenty fifth edition of Guidalberto, a milestone that invites us to look at the path taken and at the awareness this wine has achieved over more than two decades. Guidalberto was born at the beginning of the 2000s as an open project, conceived to explore an oenological style consistent with the philosophy of Tenuta San Guido and capable of evolving over time. Twenty-five vintages later, that vocation for experimentation has transformed into identity: not static, but progressively refined, built through coherent choices, successive adjustments, continuous observation. This new edition of Guidalberto shows full self-awareness, the natural result of an identity now fully formed.
Guidalberto 2024 (52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot) reveals an intense ruby red hue and an aromatic complexity enriched by the subtle vegetal nuances typical of the vintage. In its youth, it offers an immediately inviting nose while hinting at a significant aromatic evolution over the medium to long term. The bouquet opens with fresh vegetal notes that, with aeration, broaden into hints of cassis, delicate citrus tones of bergamot, and well-integrated wild berry fruit. On the palate, the wine strikes for its elegance and freshness, with a lively energy that drives the sip and a precise, long finish always under the sign of the finesse that characterizes the vintage. The structure, more restrained than in other years, enhances immediate and gratifying drinkability, supported by a saline note that lends verticality. Three key elements define Guidalberto 2024: its aromatic complexity; the saline and Mediterranean scrub notes already perceptible on the nose; and a vibrant freshness that, together with perfectly integrated tannins and a clear, sapid fruit expression, accompanies the wine throughout the tasting.
