Tua Rita Ansonica Keir 2021.
Keir Ansonica, a wine that comes from a traditional Tuscan varietal. It is an etiquette that is enriched over the four years of vinification in amphora that started in 2016 with a red berry Keir. It will certainly surprise you agreeably especially because it is a wine that has been neither clarified nor filtered and is a limited series of about two thousand bottles. Keir Ansonica is a new way for Tua Rita to ‘think and do’. Somehow, but still faithful to tradition, Tua Rita wanted to put itself to the test creating something novel.
Now in its third year of production, this is a special wine that sees extended maceration and about 20% whole clusters in clay amphorae for two months. The ancient Ansonica vines used to make the Tua Rita 2021 Keir Bianco are more than 100 years old. The wine is soft and round with spicy cinnamon-like flavors that recall the skin contact used in winemaking. It reveals unique aromas of beeswax, honey and Asian pear with hints of saffron and crushed white pepper. Dusty chalky notes also appear. On the palate, the wine is large in scope and softly textured - Monica Larner.
