Louis Jadot Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) 2020.
Jadot’s parcel of the Grand Cru vineyard of Bonnes Mares lies within the commune of Chambolle-Musigny, on steep slopes rising above the village of Chambolle. In this vineyard, the calcium content of the soil is relatively low, making for a more robust wine than Le Musigny, although extremely elegant. The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in vats for up to one month and matured in oak barrels for 18 to 20 months before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
A powerful perfume of violets and red berries leads to fruity richness on a palate laced with subtle tannins. This wine will develop for 15 to 20 years in the bottle.
Very generous wood and menthol nuances still allow the liqueur-like aromas of red currant, violet and range of spice elements to be appreciated. There is first-rate power and punch to the moderately dense and beautifully textured flavors that display superb length on the sappy finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth - Allen Meadow's, Burghound.
