The commune of Flagey Echezeaux is situated between the Clos Vougeot and the Vosne Romanée vineyards. The village is in the plain, bordering the Vosne Romanée commune. There are two Grands Crus: Echezeaux and Grands Echezeaux.
VINEYARD INFORMATION: The Grands Echezeaux vineyard is bordering the Clos Vougeot Grand Cru vineyard, facing East-South-East, on a calcareous soil.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION: Grapes are harvested by hand and put in small cases in order not to damage the fruits. Grapes are pressed softly, they ferment in oak barrels produced by the CADUS cooperage. 1/3 are new barrels. Aging usually lasts 15 months on fine lies before bottling.
WINE SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-17.
AGING POTENTIAL:20 years and more.
