Louis Jadot Monthélie 2023.
Location:Nested in a small valley, behind the village of Monthélie, our vineyard is located in a late ripening area, enjoying a fresh air flow. The soil here is clayey and stony on the surface.
Vineyard information: Two plots have been planted with Chardonnay in 2019 (a total of 0,5 ha). Ideally located, they are oriented eastwards enabling to achieve balanced grape maturity combined with a nice freshness. Monthélie represents an interesting alternative to its neighbours Meursault and Auxey-Duresses.
Vinification and maturation: Grapes are harvested by hand and put in small cases in order not to damage the fruits. Grapes are pressed softly, they ferment in oak barrels produced by the CADUS cooperage. 1/3 are new barrels. Aging usually lasts 15 months on fine lies before bottling.
Wine serving temperature: 12-14.
Aging potential: 5 to 10 years, depending on the vintage.
