Introducing the first Single Cask whiskey crafted by our Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman—our latest 1825 Room release.
In 1998, Kevin O’Gorman joined the Midleton family as a Distiller in our Midleton Distillery. He spent years learning, ideating and forging his craft. In 2007, he earned the title of Master of Maturation and in 2020, he was bestowed with the honour of becoming our Master Distiller. This whiskey, our 1825 Room release is the first Single Cask to bear his name.
The year Kevin joined us at Midleton, in 1998, this whiskey was distilled. Having followed this special spirit through its maturation, after 22 years he has chosen this as his first Single Cask release. While there were many spirits lining our vaults to choose from, it was the nose, the taste and the complexity of this whiskey which held his attention. This decision was not one he made lightly. Instead it was the culmination of years of knowledge, expertise and understanding that allowed him to bring you the best of what this single cask had to offer.
Having spent over two decades in a supportive environment, learning from the exceptional teammates and those before him, Kevin knows our cask inventory well. Having been responsible for both maturation and now distillation, there is no better person to have selected this truly special offering for you. All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other microclimatic factors.
