Résonance has been part of the Jadot family for over ten years, and these wines highlight the winery’s journey from strength to strength.

The Résonance single vineyard was originally planted in 1981, and was the main reason that Jadot opted to set up in Oregon. Based in relative isolation from most of the vineyards of the region, this secluded vineyard is surrounded by a beautiful, natural and protective forests (as featured on the striking labels) in Yamhill-Carlton and it offers the rare opportunity to taste wines with a pure and true expression of the place through an un-grafted vineyard. The forests are said to provide a defence against phylloxera, but inevitably the risks are that the time will come when it takes hold and attacks the three Pinot Noir clones planted in the vineyard (Wädenswil, Dijon 777 and Pommard).

This is a vineyard that not only offers a truly terroir focussed wine, thanks to the Jadot team’s hands-off winemaking practices but is one of the very rarest of vineyards that are not grafted onto new rootstocks. There is something unique about drinking wines from a vineyard that is resisting its own demise every vintage, and that only adds to the charm of this wine.

"Currently maturing in one-third new French oak, the 2022 Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from the old, own-rooted vines planted in 1981. “We don’t even have own-rooted vines in Burgundy anymore,” says winemaker Guillaume Large. “So, we’re trying to keep these as long as possible without phylloxera.” Its aromas unfurl slowly, segueing from cranberry sauce, rhubarb and aniseed to mushrooms, autumn leaves and wildflowers. The light-bodied palate features concentrated yet detailed flavours. It has a tea-like astringency, vibrant acidity and a long, dynamic finish. 1,400 cases are expected." - 93-95pts, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec-24
