Location and Terroir: ‘Rocas’ takes its name from the large stones and gravelly soils on which its vineyards sit. Its remote and special location in and around Ocoa allows the Mediterranean climate to give long slow hangtime to the key hillside varietals of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon ensuring aromatic complexity, and spellbinding fruit. The other varieties come from the rocky, north-east-facing slopes of the Las Vertientes vineyard on the opposite side of the Aconcagua Valley. Here, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre benefit from warmer, sun-kissed conditions, while the stones absorb heat by day and release it at night, aiding phenolic ripeness without sacrificing freshness. This produces ripe tannins and fruit with captivating juiciness. The cooling Pacific and Andean airflow is channelled down the steep sided corridor of the Aconcagua valley, ensuring the warmth is kept in check, and the grapes are in perfect health with their signature vibrancy, freshness, acidity and elegance.

Vintage 2024: The 2024 growing season for Rocas de Seña was defined by a sequence of contrasting conditions that ultimately favoured freshness, balance, and aromatic expression. A cool and restrained start to the season gradually evolved into a warmer and brighter finish, allowing the vineyard to progress at its own pace and deliver a lively and expressive vintage.

Harvest took place later than in recent vintages, guided by careful observation and patience. The resulting fruit showed bright aromatics, vibrant acidity, and refined tannin development, perfectly aligned with the fresh, playful, and approachable style of Rocas de Seña.

The character of the 2024 season is clearly reflected in the final blend. Malbec remains at the heart of Rocas de Seña, providing its signature freshness and fruit expression. For the first time, Cabernet Sauvignon matches Malbec in importance, following an outstanding season for this variety, which contributed structure, precision, and aromatic clarity. The Mediterranean varieties represent a smaller portion of the blend than in 2023, a natural response to the cooler conditions of the season, adding lift, a pinch of mixed spice and complexity without dominating the blend.

"A hint of quince and violet to the deep blueberries, sweet currants and blackberries. Medium- to full-bodied, with a juicy fruit core and very fine-grained tannins. Long, very juicy and fresh. Expressive and fluid but also serious. A blend of 35% malbec, 35% cabernet sauvignon, 25% syrah, 5% grenache and 3% mourvedre. Drink or hold." 95 points, Zekun Shuai, James Suckling, Jul 2026

"As with the flagship bottling, the 2024 Rocas de Seña beautifully reflects the vintage, characterized by a steady, balanced profile that elevates it beyond a typical second wine. It begins with an inviting bouquet, showcasing nuanced violet, lavender and sage notes alongside a black-fruited core. Smooth, seamless and weightless on the palate, it ends with a perfumed finish that lingers, underscored by ultra-refined tannins. It is a blend of 35% Malbec, 22% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Mourvèdre and 5% Grenache." 94 points, Matthew Luczy, Wine Advocate, May 2026

"A particularly balanced, inviting vintage of Seña's 'baby brother', blending 35% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Syrah, 3% Mourvèdre and 5% Grenache. It evokes the aromatic clarity of its 2021 counterpart with added viscosity and fruit expressiveness. Opens with a fragrant nose of rose petals, cherry blossom and wild rocket, with red berries playing in the background. The palate follows with smooth vividness and fluid core bursting with ripe cherry and plum, glazed with plum jam. Touches of violet, rose petals, oregano and thyme add fragrant punctuation, with pink pepper defining a live spicy line, aided by the soft yet firm acidity. Long finish with a tail of sweet strawberries, cranberry jam and rockrose". 94 points, Ines Salpico Decanter (at Decanter Tasting Suite, 07 Sep 2026)

“Rocas de Seña 2024 shows a bright ruby-red colour with violet highlights. The nose is expressive and lifted, led by floral aromas reminiscent of violet, gently complemented by notes of lavender and sage. Fresh red fruit notes of ripe cherry and pomegranate follow, with a subtle herbal touch of rosemary in the background. On the palate, the aromatic profile is echoed with clarity, driven by fresh, vibrant fruit. Angular tannins give the wine shape and energy, while a bright, well-integrated acidity keeps it lively. Juicy and elegant, the wine flows easily across the palate, delivering a fresh, playful expression with a long, refreshing finish.” Emily Faulconer, Winemaker February 2026
