VINEYARD INFORMATION: The Louis Jadot vineyard of 3.5 hectares Le Vaucrain has been acquired in 1996. It is located in Comblanchien, next to the famous Nuits Saint-Georges Premier Cru Clos de la Maréchale.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION: Harvest is done by hand, grapes are put in small cases in order not to damage the berries. Grapes are then sorted out by hand and destemmed. Maceration in open wooden vats or in stainless steel vats lasts 3 to 4 weeks. During fermentation pigeage is done twice per day. The wine ages 18 months in oak barrels from the CADUS cooperage; 1/3 of the barrels are new.
WINE SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-17.
AGING POTENTIAL: 5-10 years.
